watercolor sketches

I finally have an area to do some actual watercolors–so I’m starting slow with a few sketches. I don’t usually use black ink in my illustrations, but I think I like the results here. I’ll have to pursue it more seriously down the road.

I’m not sure why I drew a baseball scene in the middle of fall. Maybe it’s a subconscious tribute to the World Series which just wrapped up. The boy is wearing an Oregon State University hat–(2-time College World Series Champs!). Of course, the Boston Red Sox won the World Series, and on the team is a rookie from Oregon State (my Alma Matter!!), Jacoby Elsberry. Go Beavs.
